The Porsche 911 Dakar is the most unconventional 911 ever built — a road-legal, all-terrain sports car inspired by the 953 that won the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally. Limited to just 2,500 units worldwide, the Dakar takes the 992 Carrera 4 GTS powertrain and wraps it in lifted, off-road-capable bodywork with unique underbody protection and standard all-terrain tyres.
Ride height is raised by 50mm over a standard 911, with an optional further 30mm lift at low speed. A two-speed transfer case provides a dedicated off-road mode alongside the standard driving modes. The Dakar is available with a standard body or the optional Rallye Design Package — a stunning tribute livery in the colours of the original 1984 race car, which has become the most desirable specification.
With just 2,500 built globally, the 911 Dakar is already a collector car from new. The Rallye Design Package cars are rarer still. Values have held exceptionally well against list price, and low-mileage examples with the Rallye Design Package are trading at or above MSRP in the secondary market.
