Porsche 997 For Sale

The Porsche 997 (2005–2012) is widely regarded as one of the finest 911s — a model that refined the fundamentals established by the 996 while addressing its controversies. Produced in two distinct generations (997.1 from 2005–2008 and 997.2 from 2009–2012), the 997 spans standard Carrera through to the iconic 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 — considered by many to be the greatest naturally aspirated 911 ever built.

The 997.1 Carrera shared the 996's M96/M97 engine variants and carries the same IMS concern; the 997.2 switched to the revised DFI engine that resolved IMS entirely. Manual 997s are now appreciating, with Carrera S and GT3 manual examples commanding premiums as the manual-transmission market strengthens.

Rennzone lists all 997 variants — Carrera, Carrera S, 4S, GTS, Targa, Turbo, GT3, GT3 RS — from verified sellers worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

997.1 vs 997.2 — which should I buy?
The 997.2 (2009–2012) resolved the IMS bearing issue with the DFI engine, has better fuel economy, and added PDCC as an option. The 997.1 is more affordable and feels slightly rawer. For peace of mind, the 997.2 is the safer buy; for budget, the 997.1 with confirmed IMS treatment.
Is the Porsche 997 manual going up in value?
Yes. Manual 997 Carreras and especially GT3 manuals are appreciating as PDK becomes the default and manual boxes become rarer. The 997.2 GT3 manual in particular commands a significant premium.
