A really lovely, sensible-mileage example of what’s widely regarded as a modern classic 3. 2-litre 986 Boxster S. This car has been a much loved 2nd car for us, very well cared for and in very good condition both mechanically and cosmetically. With under 73,000 miles from new and a comprehensive service history, it really doesn’t look or feel its age at all.
Only offered for sale as work and travel mean we sadly just don’t have enough time to drive it much at all, and the rented garage we had is no longer available - which also means we can't have it on an agreed valuation insurance policy (which was for £10k). :-(
Service History & Maintenance
The car has a Full Service History (FSH), onto 2nd service book and comes with a folder full with over £19k supporting receipts / invoices since 2010 running to over 50 pages of invoices etc.
Last Service
Completed at 71,790 miles late Sept 2025 by Porsche & Euro car specialists, has only covered just over 1k miles since, naturally you could service straight away, or very easily differ until spring as the oil has seen very little use at all and enjoy for a few thousand miles before.
23 fully stamped and documented services in total from 2001 to 2025 - all either OPC or Porsche specialists, ar uses no oil between services and drives superbly.

Early 986 S have the stronger dual-row IMS bearing, I've checked this via my cars engine number against Porsche bulletin (can confirm) - at every service I've had the oil, filter and sump plug checked and never had anything reported back at all, when this cars clutch was changed prior to my ownership the IMS was left alone.
Exterior
The paintwork is in generally very good condition, has a few minimal stone chips but straight panels, naturally its 26yrs old so not perfect but I see 5yr old cars in much worse order.
Interior
Drivers seats shows a little bolster wear, but all switchgear, electric windows, heated seats and original gauges work perfectly.
Roof
The mohair roof is in great condition and convertible top operates smoothly and quickly. The rear plastic screen sadly has a recent crack in left corner, it’s been gorilla taped and doesn’t leak, however my asking price reflects this.
AC
isn’t blowing cold due to an AC line under the car that someone has slightly damaged, it’s never been an issue to me as any excuse to lower to roof, again my asking price reflects this.
Wheels & Tyres
Factory 17 inch alloy wheels in very good condition, minimal marks etc, with matching Michelin PS4 tyres with plenty of tread remaining.
Summary
This is a honest, well-maintained and unmolested example of an early Boxster S, low mileage (less than 20k miles) cars sell for £14k+, high mileage (150k miles+) tired ones for £4k, this is has only covered 72,900 miles (2.8k per year on average), drives beautifully and is distinctly analogue compared to more modern machinery, it’s HPI clear and has 2 keys.
Photos were all taken Fri 7 Aug but it was rather dull weather - will take some new ones as soon as the sun comes out.

The asking price given the condition, history and mileage etc is very fair - I've had it on an agreed valuation insurance policy for £10k.
