Most track day operators will ask that data logging and video equipment installed in vehicles must be tethered to your vehicle whilst on track. The standard Garmin Catalyst mount is magnetic, and may not comply.
RPM Technik have assembled a kit that can be used to mechanically secure the Catalyst to the magnetic mount and also tether the suction mount to the car to prevent it becoming a projectile in the event of a heavy impact. Simply loop the wire tether around the sun visor mount and attached to the ball mount for Garmin. Unscrew the original mount, insert the bracket between the components, and reattach using the longer screws provided.
